Are You or Are You Not

Are You or Are You Not:

An Emotional Abuser
OR
A Person who is Emotionally Abused?

To truly appreciate emotional abuse (any act including confinement, isolation, verbal assault, humiliation, intimidation, or any other treatment which may diminish the sense of identity, dignity, and self-worth) we need to understand that there are different kinds of abuse.
  • Discriminatory abuse.
  • Financial abuse.
  • Neglect.
  • Physical abuse.
  • Psychological and emotional abuse.
  • Sexual abuse.
  • Verbal abuse.

I realize that emotional abuse takes place predominantly with individuals who have low self-esteem and self-confidence.  These individuals are normally trapped when trying to satisfy a need or a desire to be loved.

LOVE is not blind but NEED is.

While symptoms of Emotional Abuse can be seen; the characteristics of an Emotional Abuser is not visible.

Do you know why an individual who is emotionally abused stays with their abuser?  My assumption is because they love the individual and hopes indefinitely that they would change; their concept of love is warped and also because the abuser satisfies some type of need(s).

I realize that from the outside looking in we see ABUSE but the abuser from the inside looking out see LOVE or a NEED(S) being satisfied.

My conclusion to assist these types of individuals’ deals with our ability to (while gaining their trust) assists in improving their self-worth and self-confidence by showing them how to grow themselves.
